PROGRAMS
Programs are PC, MAC, UNIX, and/or LYNIX based applications which can assist you in the construction, programming, and controlling of your robot. What programs can do is dependent on what is offered and for which controller platform you choose. From tutorials to compilers to loaders, these tools will allow you to teach your project what to do within limits. Limits are controlled by ability, functionality, and memory constraints of the robot, controller, or your imagination. Some come with the correct interface cable and others will require you to purchase or make a cable. Make sure that you have the correct interface (PORT serial, usb, nic, parallel, Bluetooth, wifi) on your computer before you start. Some pic programmers (like Velleman’s kit K8048) require the use of a real serial port and not a USB serial converter, the signals from the standard port are required for program signals.
